MedShare2August 5, 2013 –  ApolloMD partnered with MedShare for People Power Day on August 3, 2013. Over 30 volunteers came together Saturday morning to help sort and prepare medical supplies for shipping with a goal to greatly improve global healthcare.

ApolloMD volunteers packed 274 boxes equaling over 3,000 lbs. The boxes will be going to save lives on their upcoming August shipments, which include: Columbia, Trinidad & Tobago, Cameroon, Uganda, and Kenya.  MedShare has shipped medical supplies to over 95 countries around the world.

MedShare is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare by the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment. According to Healthcare Without Harm, U.S. hospitals generate more than two millions tons of medical waste each year – much which is unused medical supplies and equipment.
