Gulf Breeze Hospital and Mary Black Memorial Hospital Receive 2014 Outstanding Patient Experience Award
April 8, 2014 – ApolloMD is excited to congratulate two partner hospitals recently recognized by Healthgrades for providing outstanding patient experiences. Gulf Breeze Hospital in Gulf Breeze, Florida and Mary Black Memorial Hospital in Spartanburg, South Carolina received the award for excellent performance in HCAHPS scores.
Healthgrades recently performed a study that found that, of the 10 HCAHPS measures, patient satisfaction and patient recommendations are highly dependent on the patient’s experiences tied to: a) nurse communication; b) pain control; c) discharge instructions; d) timely help; and e) clear explanations of medications.
ApolloMD partnered with Gulf Breeze and Mary Black in 2003 and 2010, respectively, to provide emergency physician services. Both hospitals have demonstrated consistently high patient satisfaction scores and ranked in the top 15% of hospitals in the five categories above.
“Providing positive patient experiences is a goal of hospitals across the country, and we are proud to congratulate Gulf Breeze Hospital and Mary Black Memorial Hospital on this great honor,” says Amy Katnik, ApolloMD’s Chief Operating Officer of Emergency Services.
