GAHE Virtual Leadership Series: Leading by Design 2021

[WEBINAR] Leading by Design: An Intentional Approach to Culture and Innovation at Tampa General Hospital

Join us on March 31 as John D. Couris, President and CEO of Tampa General Hospital, discusses his approach to designing culture and innovation in a large hospital system. As a visionary leader, Couris has had continued success in building healthcare companies throughout the country by driving innovation, operational excellence, and strategic collaborations.

In this session, Couris will share his approach to creating an organizational culture that thrives on authenticity, kindness, vulnerability and transparency, and how focusing on the wellbeing of his team drives positive experiences for healthcare consumers.

Since taking the helm of Tampa General Hospital in 2017, Couris has championed innovation. He will share his experiences in launching CareComm, a care coordination center using artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and industrial engineering to improve safety, quality, and cost.

Couris will also look at Tampa General Hospital InnoVentures, a venture capital fund he has launched that is dedicated to driving a culture of innovation within the organization, supporting early-stage startups and direct investments.

These initiatives combine Couris’ passion for operational excellence with his focus on achieving the organization’s vision to become the safest and most innovative academic health system in America
