The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is a federal agency that administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with state government agencies to administer Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and CMS makes sure beneficiaries in these programs are able to receive high-quality healthcare.
