Diego Martinez, M.D., provides professional leadership and direction within Population Health, Hospitalist Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Post-Acute Care. He earned his medical degree from Colombia, where he trained in Critical Care. Dr. Martinez moved to Boston in 1999 where he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Hypertension and Cardiovascular Damage and did his training in Internal Medicine both at Harvard University. Dr. Martinez completed his Fellowship in Preventive Medicine and earned a Master’s of Public Health in Health Care policy and Management both from Boston University. He completed a Master’s of Business Administration in Health Care from Johns Hopkins University.
Previously, Dr. Martinez has held a number of positions in medicine and medical management including Managing Director, Population Health Policy and Utilization for Evolent Health, Vice President of Medical Affairs for Mary Washington Healthcare, Medical Director of Clinical Resource Utilization for MedStar Health, Chief Executive Officer for OmniLinkMed (telemedicine), Regional Chief Medical Officer for Hospitalists Management Group, Chief Medical and Operating Officer for CAJASAN health and other Medical Director roles for Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facilities in the Boston and Baltimore area.
Dr. Martinez is board certified in Internal Medicine and as a Physician Executive. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Additionally, Dr. Martinez has authored several publications on both Healthcare Management and Medical Research and has presented his research at numerous medical and scientific conferences nationally and internationally.
