Michael Pesce, MD, JD Appointed Chief Medical Officer, ApolloMD Anesthesia Services

January 26, 2011 – ApolloMD is excited to announce that Michael Pesce, MD, JD has been appointed Chief Medical Officer of ApolloMD’s Anesthesia service line.  Pesce joined the group in 2010 as Medical Director of Floyd Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, and has grown to become an integral member of the anesthesia leadership team.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Pesce will collaborate with members of ApolloMD’s clinical operations team to optimize the provision of anesthesia services, ensuring effective resource utilization and a strong focus on patient safety.  He will also continue to serve as Medical Director of Anesthesia at Floyd Medical Center in Rome.

Bringing extensive clinical leadership experience to ApolloMD, Dr. Pesce has led multiple anesthesia service groups to success, and has overseen the turnaround of numerous operating rooms under his medical directorship.  He has worked as a consultant, bringing his expertise to organizations across the country, and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Bioethics at The Bioethics Institute in Los Angeles, California.

Pesce received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from UC Davis, and then went on to attend Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  After completing his internship at The University of California San Diego, he trained at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he served as Chief Resident.  Pesce later earned a law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.
