At ApolloMD, we understand excellent physicians and advance practice clinicians are the lifeblood of our business, and we invest in our clinical partners by offering leadership development opportunities.
Through the ApolloMD Leadership Academy, physicians and APCs augment their clinical skills with training in management, operations, and communication. Equipped with the knowledge and experience to effectively lead a clinical team, our physicians, NPs, PAs and CRNAs are able to excel as medical directors or Lead APCs.
Involving both formal and informal methods, the Leadership Academy is a collaborative effort with top-tier academic institutions that incorporates benchmarking, metrics and practical real-world expertise to improve hospital performance through medical director and Lead APC training. In addition, we work with groups such as SHM, ACEP, RSNA, the Baptist Leadership Group and the American College of Physician Executives to refine our internal organizational practices via learning from peer institutions nationwide.
The leadership training program spans a period of two years. Tailored to train top-tier candidates on cutting-edge solutions to everyday problems, the ApolloMD Leadership Academy incorporates the following:
Exposure to Excellence
Training at Baptist Leadership Group in Pensacola, FL in nurse-physician relationships and interaction
American College of Physician Executives course on influence and communication between physicians, administration and nursing
Mentoring and Project Management
Apprenticeship under current, experienced medical director or Lead APC
Participation in operational, quality and personnel projects
Review critical leadership skills, hospital issues, scheduling, etc.
Learning the ApolloMD Way
Candidates are educated by ApolloMD leaders in non-clinical aspects of contract management, including:

As a national multispecialty practice, ApolloMD supports physicians and APCs with a vast library of best practices and proven solutions from facilities across the country. Through the ApolloMD CareHub, clinical teams have access to proprietary education, technologies and processes to enhance their local practice.
Through the Leadership Academy, ApolloMD introduces rising leaders to numerous resources and teaches physicians and APCs to leverage the tools to enhance patient care.

ApolloMD is entirely owned by our physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and key business team members. We started in 1983 by partnering with a nonprofit health system, and we are proud of our history as a completely private, independent group for the last four decades. We have never accepted outside ownership.
