Ted Patras, MD

Dr. Ted Patras joined ApolloMD in 2011. He is a seasoned Emergency Physician and accomplished healthcare executive with over two decades of leadership experience in clinical operations and practice management. As a Regional President, Dr. Patras has managed multi-specialty clinical operations across emergency medicine, hospital medicine, radiology, and anesthesia, driving excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.

In addition to his executive role, Dr. Patras has provided strategic consulting in mergers and acquisitions, reimbursement strategies, and physician integration. His expertise extends to managing revenue cycle improvements, managed care negotiations, optimizing service metrics with emphasis on improving throughput and patient experience.

Previously Dr Patras has served as President of Illinois Emergency Medicine Specialists (IEMS), Dr. Patras expanded the group’s reach by over 100% He has held leadership positions including serving as Chief of Staff, Medical Director of several sites and has served as an interim COO at a hospital partner.

Dr. Patras is a Diplomate of The American Board of Emergency Medicine and holds an MD from Rosalind Franklin University. He then completed an internship with the Department of Internal Medicine at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago followed by Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Chicago. He is completing advanced training in artificial intelligence in healthcare at Harvard Medical School and continues to stay at the forefront of medical innovation.

A passionate educator, Dr. Patras has held academic appointments at the University of Illinois School of Medicine and has contributed to residency training in clinical emergency medicine.
