How to Register
There are several ways to register for ACEP18. Register online at acep.org/acep18, register by phone at 844-381-0911, register by fax at 972-999-4624 (available 24-hours) or register by mail by sending your registration form and information to ACEP Meeting Registration, P.O. Box 619911, Dallas, TX 75261-9911.
Sign up with promo code SANDIEGO to save $100. Registration must be completed before Aug. 31st and promo code applied at time of registration. Download the form to send via fax or mail.
Hotel & Travel Information
Hotel reservations can be made through ACEP’s official housing partner, onPeak. ACEP has secured reduced-rate hotel rooms to help make your trip to San Diego affordable. Book your room with one of more than 20 hotel partners. Rooms are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Through onPeak, you can book now and pay later. If your plans change, onPeak lets you make adjustments without penalty. Reservations should be made early as possible for best hotel selection and price.
The hotel room block deadline is Sept. 20, 2018. When booking your room, if you have hotel reward points or are a member of a loyalty program be sure to add your loyalty rewards number to receive those points.
Flying to ACEP18? No worries, we are too! San Diego International Airport, formerly Lindbergh Field, is located three miles northwest of Downtown San Diego and will be the most convenient airport to the convention center.
This year, ACEP has partnered with Campbell Resources to offer the lowest airfares available at the time of your booking. Campbell Resources charges a $25.95 fee per airfare transaction. Set Personal Goals
What is the main reason you are attending ACEP18? What do you want to accomplish while you are in San Diego? Whether you want to explore the latest and greatest technology with hands-on labs, are a new resident searching for your first job or a board-certified physician or APC looking to make a job change, set personal attainable goals to work toward during your time at ACEP18. Start a written brainstorm to narrow down your goals and what you would like to accomplish. Keep your finalized list at the forefront of your mind. The long days packed with courses and events can be exhausting and distracting. If you establish your goals in advance and make those your main priority while onsite, you will be sure to accomplish what you set out to do.
Do Your Research
If you are attending ACEP with a primary goal of exploring physician groups and open job opportunities, start your research early. Find out as much information about the group(s) beforehand. From your preliminary research you should determine if you want to know more or would like meet the team. If so, contact a recruiter. By doing so, you will make your first connection to a team member and can provide your CV in advance. Early conversations with a recruiter will ensure a smoother meeting process with the appropriate Regional President or Medical Director while onsite if the team already knows what you’re interested in.

Register for Courses
Between the exhibit hall, educational courses, special events and other activities, there is a lot going on each day at ACEP. Make the most of your time by registering for your courses in advance. ACEP18 will feature more than 350 courses and labs in a number of different learning formats including 30-minute Rapid Fire courses, hands-on Skills Labs, EM: RAP Live and more. As always, the popular courses will fill up quickly so we recommend registering as soon as possible.
ACEP makes organizing your schedule easy. Use the online schedule planner to build your personalized itinerary of courses and other events. The online planner offers great flexibility for users and allows for you to change your courses at any time. The pricing of each course or lab can be found online. Fill in the rest of your stay with time in the exhibit hall, schedule mini-interviews, networking parties and special events. Not sure what to do in between courses? Want to Get Involved?
As a way to celebrate their 50th Anniversary ACEP started the Making Every Moment Count campaign. As emergency medicine clinicians, we are a part of what makes ACEP look great, so why not share? There are a number of ways to get involved, for full details visit the ACEP 50th Anniversary Page. Some of the options include:
- Submit a picture from when you were first starting in the ED, or one that holds special significance along your EM journey
- Share a special moment that resonates with you in a one-minute or less video clip
ACEP will share these memories throughout the year on their social media feed with the hashtag #EMeverymoment. Share your story for a chance for it to be shared with the rest of the ACEP community.
Have Fun & Family-Friendly Events
For job seekers and residents ACEP will often seem like a never-ending job interview. For those focused on courses and hands-on training, it’s easy to reach the point of information overload.  While these areas may be your main focus for the conference, don’t forget to schedule time to enjoy your trip and have fun. In addition to the official ACEP18 Kickoff Party and ACEP18 Closing Celebration, there are countless other special events to attend in between.
Bringing your family with you to ACEP18? Awesome! There is plenty for your family to do while you are busy with labs or workshops. Make plans to meet up with other families, go to dinner or plan other activities in San Diego by joining the ACEP Family Facebook Group. Some activities include:

- Attending the Kick-Off Party in the historic Gaslamp Quarter with food, music and activities
- Attending the Closing Celebration at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, with food, drinks, dancing, fireworks and fun baseball activities

Reflect and Follow-Up
ACEP18 is over. Now what? Take the weekend to rest and reflect on your experience. Whether it is your first or fifteenth time attending, each year brings something new and noteworthy to take back to your team, colleagues, etc. Go through your notes and compile a list to share with others and brainstorm ways to best implement what you learned into your everyday practice. If you went with a purpose of networking and exploring job opportunities, think about the groups and individuals you met. Did any of the groups stand out to you, or did you make any strong connections? After you’ve had time to further explore the groups and their offerings, start sending emails to follow-up with the connections you’ve made.
