Hospitalist

According to the Society of Hospital Medicine, a Hospitalist is a physician that specializes in the general medical care of hospitalized patients that are acutely ill. Both MDs and DOs may serve as Hospitalists. They are usually board certified in either Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. A Hospitalist performs a broad range of activities including, but not limited to, patient care, teaching, research, and leadership to hospital medicine
